This course is available for people working with children and families in Stoke-on-Trent. For those working with children and families outside of Stoke-on-Trent, please contact your local Safeguarding Children Partnership.

 

TRAINING COST:

This lunchtime learning session is FREE for all agencies


Nurturing professional curiosity, challenge and hypothesis are a fundamental aspect of working together to keep children and young people safe.  The aim of this workshop is to develop practitioners understanding of professional curiosity and how to apply it to practice.

 

The session will explore:

  • Who it is that needs to be professionally curious.
  • What is meant by professional curiosity.
  • Maintaining respectful uncertainty.
  • Why it is important in direct work with families and how and when do we exercise professional curiosity in our work with families.
  • The importance of asking the right questions and using professional judgement.
