This course is available for people working with children and families in Stoke-on-Trent. For those working with children and families outside of Stoke-on-Trent, please contact your local Safeguarding Children Partnership.

 

Training Cost:

This course is FREE to all agencies.

 

Audience:

This training is for those staff who work predominantly with children and families in Stoke-on-Trent and who potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of children.

Examples of roles that would meet course criteria:

The training would support any professional providing early intervention support to families, including (but not limited to):

  • School home-school link workers
  • Safeguarding officers from schools, colleges and alternative provisions
  • Members of a school inclusion team
  • Health visitors
  • Education Welfare Officers
  • Support workers working with families in the charity or health sector
  • Youth Offending officers
  • Workers in early years settings such as nurseries
  • Staff working in community play schemes
  • Sports club welfare officers

 

Description:

The one-day training session, delivered by licenced trainers, is to support staff to offer and lead Early Help support with families using the Outcome Star framework. The course covers how to work with families to identify areas of support and how to help families using an individual plan to suit their needs. It introduces the paperwork and resources you will need to record the impact of Early Help with families you are supporting.

 

Session Objectives:

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the Outcome Star and how it is used with families and children.
  • Use the Outcome Star framework to complete an Early Help assessment, Action Plan and Review.
  • Have confirmation of the Early Help registration process.
