Aims of course -

Increase participants’ awareness of and response to protecting children who are both at risk of and currently experiencing sexual abuse.

  • Have considered how attitudes and beliefs around sexual development can have an influence on our ability to safeguard
  • Have an overview of the legal and statutory guidance as well as local protocols in relation to child sexual abuse.
  • Have considered the common factors for families where child sexual abuse is a feature
  • Have learnt to recognise the indicators of Child Sexual Abuse including behavioural and physical markers

  • To promote the importance of multi-agency working and cooperation
  • To understand your own agencies procedures and principles of practice within the context of Sexual Abuse.
  • understanding of local provision for children experiencing child sexual abuse
  • Understand the SSCB Escalation procedure.
  • Understand the SSCB Threshold document.
