Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board are launching the NSPCC Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2) toolkit to help you identify and assess neglect in children.
The Board are offering free one day training courses to everyone who works with children across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire
Virtual training will be delivered through Microsoft teams throughout 2021/22 and is free from charge for all agencies.
The objective of the course is to enable front line staff with the tools and techniques to identify and asses neglect in children through a comprehensive, practical, evidenced-based assessment tool for evaluating levels of parental care. The tool uses a graded scale (1-best 5-worst) to capture levels of physical and emotional care and can be used alongside existing tools.
Child neglect is the most common reason for a child to be subject to a child protection plan and is featured in 60% of all serious case reviews.
